Newsletter Issue 22 - January 2018
Happy New Year! We hope 2018 is full of amazing things for you, your organizations, and your students. If you're like us, your new year's resolutions are all about improving for students, and we've got opportunities below to help turn those resolutions into reality.
1: Get Better at Getting Better
Take a pause from your daily grind to innovate together at the 2018 Think Tank. Collab-orators and Collab-curious members are all invited to this exciting morning of learning from each others' inspiring ideas, building and sharing SEL expertise, and designing solutions to improve outcomes for students. Bring your #problemsolving skills, your thinking cap, and your team. More details and agenda can be found here.
2: Use My Voice to Shape My Network
Our #1 resolution is to be even better at listening to what members really want and need. Use your voice and this opportunity to shape your network: take this quick 5-min feedback survey to help us improve. Here's to a year of speaking up and voicing our opinions!
3: Take Advantage of Free Resources
NYU Legal Services
NYU Business Law Transactions Clinic provides clients with a broad range of transactional legal services such as: drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents. Read more and apply here.
Cornerstone Data Consultation
Cornerstone Research is offering free data consultation services to members. Reach out to kavya@ssn-nyc.org to learn more about how to take advantage of their expertise.
4: Help Students Be Their Best Selves
Students show us again and again that they excel in new roles and with new challenges.
1. Our Youth Council members show us that they are ready to work and improve the network by helping us understand how to be a better organization. Stay tuned for their recommendations for the network coming soon!
2. Nominate 10th graders to join Opportunity Network's intensive 6 year fellowship that trains and supports students in career development. Read more about the opportunity and application here, or attend their information session.
