Newsletter Issue 13: Data Lab, Thrive Mental Health Training, New Visions
Newsletter Issue 13 - January 2017
We're kicking off 2017 with opportunities for all of us to improve. Make sure you take advantage of the following network opportunities and join the network in our dedication to improvement.
SSN Innovates: Data Lab
Come and find out who has the same challenges as you, who is working towards the same goals, and how we can work smarter and better together. What are the similarities and differences between your organization and another with a similar program focus? In the same neighborhood? With the same students? How can we inspire each other to tackle these challenges? The Data Lab kicks off our SSN Innovates Challenge, a semester-long commitment to collaboration and improvement. The Data Lab will be a space for you to share your baseline data, form collaborative groups, and brainstorm ideas to take on shared challenges. So, bring your team, your Baseline Reports, and get ready to innovate!
Thrive NYC Mental Health Training
As part of the Thrive NYC initiative, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is offering a free Mental Health First Aid training to members of the Student Success Network. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a groundbreaking public education program that teaches the skills needed to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges or crises. Space is limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible! Contact Lucy (lucy@ssn-nyc.org) with any questions.
Your Next Class of Students
New Visions wants to use their database to match students to your organization. They're making it easier for students to discover the opportunities they want and for you to find the students you need.
